ARMAGH GAA RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL RESULT

Ballymacnab Round Towers                 0-15
Madden Raparees                               1-04

Commiserations to Brendan and the lads on their defeat last night. They fought gallantly on the night but unfortunately came up against stronger opposition on the night. It has been a great achievement for this young squad in reaching this final and we have no doubt they will be back again challenging for honours again next season. Well done to all involved in an excellent season.

Minors
Our Minor team travelled to St Enda's on Monday night past for the penultimate league fixture knowing only a win would keep their dreams of league silverware alive. Blighted by injuries to key players this was always going to be a tough encounter. The lads fought extremely well throughout the game and a few decisions went against them towards the end of the game to hand their opponents a two point victory. Next up for the Minors is the Minor Championship and an away trip to Culloville against O'Doirnin Blues.

U-16 Championship Semi Final
Our U-16 team under the guidance of Mickey Grimley, Tony McIlvanna and Ciaran Rafferty progressed through to the Championship Final after disposing of Mullaghbawn on a full time score of 8-15 to 1-07.The first half was a tense enough affair at times with Madden leading at the interval 2-8 till 1-5 as the South Armagh side put it up to our lads. However when our lads matched their work rate in the second half we got few more goals and Mullaghbawn's lads heads dropped. Best on the night for Madden were Oisin Tohill, Tony O'Hagan and Chris McParland all enhancing their reputations with great second half performances. Overall the management team are delighted to be in another Championship final and are looking forward to the challenge of Armagh Harps. Well done to the players and their management team on this fine victory. Everyone at Madden Raparees G.F.C. will be behind you all as you push to bring home the first piece of silverware to the club this season.

U-12.5's
On Friday evening our U-12.5 team travelled to Ballymacnab for a Go-Game league match. The lads played incredibly well and recorded back to back wins for only the second time this season. Pauric Morgan, Cathal Donnelly and Daire Hughes were the stand out players for Madden on the night with all three heavily influential on the game and the result. It took a lot more than three players to beat this Ballymacnab side with the rest of the team playing well in their defensive and attacking units. All of their hard work on the training pitch is beginning to pay off as the team gathers some momentum we all have no doubt they will begin to string together some more results over the final few months of the summer to leave them in good stead approaching their end of season tournaments.

Armagh Representation
Congratulations to Niall Grimley who has once again been selected to start at Midfield for Armagh GAA today for their crucial All-Ireland Quarter-Final clash with neighbours Tyrone GAA in Croke Park.
All at Madden Raparees G.F.C. would like to wish Niall and the rest of his Armagh teammates the very best of luck today as Armagh look to progress through to the All-Ireland Semi-Final for the first time in over a decade. Finally we would like to wish all our Raparees travelling to the match a safe journey up and down the road to Dublin.

All-Ireland Road Bowls
All at Madden Raparees G.F.C. would like to wish the Madden Road Bowls club the very best of luck over the weekend as the host the prestigious All-Ireland Finals for the second consecutive year.
A lot of hard work by our members has been put into securing this event in Madden and ensuring the road is in the best condition possible for the competition. There was a big clean up on the road during the week and everyone will agree that it is pristine.
Finally we would like to wish our two current playing members, Cathal Maguire and Ruairi Hughes and our two past playing members Kevin McQuade and Geraldine Kieran the very best of luck this weekend as they go in search of All-Ireland glory on their home road.
